Kelley May Zaleta

Co-Owner and Director

Kelley is a professional dancer, coach, judge, and instructor who has over 20 years of experience. Kelley currently coaches the 14x consecutive State Champions, Hamden High School Dance Team, as well as the college division 1 dance team, Quinnipiac University Bobcats. She has worked for Universal Dance Association—the world’s premier dance organization—for over 14 years. She still works with UDA training all dance staff across the country and helping to create the national summer dance program. Kelley has traveled to over 10 countries teaching camps of hundreds and training their coaches. In 2013, Kelley entered the All Star Dance world by starting and directing her first program to the USASF World Championships.

Kristy is a professional dancer/actress/singer (triple threat) with experience spanning over 26 years. Starting at age two she quickly grew into a competitive dancer throughout her childhood to teenage years. She moved to NYC to pursue her Musical Theater dreams attending American Musical and Dramatic Academy in Manhattan. After graduating she traveled the US with multiple Broadway National Tours including, ‘Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat’, playing “Rumpleteazer” in ‘CATS’, and ‘101 Dalmatians the Musical’. Kristy spent time traveling the islands of Hawaii performing on Norwegian Cruise Line’s Pride of America. Regionally, she's appeared in ‘High School Musical’, played “Val” in a ‘Chorus Line’, and lastly ‘Disaster! A Musical’ Off-Broadway in New York City. Kristy has always loved the sport of dance team since she helped create her high school team in 2000. She has kept herself involved in the dance team world throughout all her travels by dancing competitively on the World stage, and as choreographer to top 10 nationally ranked high school dance teams and State Champions in CT. 

Hannah Melendez


Hannah has been dancing since the age of 3 and has grown to love the art/sport of dance in so many ways. She began competing at age 10 and from there her passion and dedication grew! Hannah was a 4 year member and captain of the state champion Hamden High School Dance Team. She currently attends Southern Connecticut State University where she is pursuing an exercise science degree with a concentration towards physical therapy. She continues her training and passion by dancing on the DFU Open Adult team and assisting as a coach to younger teams. Her goal is to share her passion for dance with others and is excited for what’s in store at DFU! 

Tess Palluzzi


Tess began dancing in middle school with Walsh Intermediate School. In high school, she continued her dance career with the Branford High School dance team as a 4 year member and senior caption and won many state championships during her time on both Hip Hop and Jazz teams. She also danced for Dance Fits U Unicorns while in high school and virtually in the beginning of her college career. She furthered her passion for dance in college and danced for the University of Cincinnati, a national and world champion team. Though she graduated with degrees in Animal Biology and Environmental Science in college, she continues her passion for dance locally and is teaching a variety of classes with DFU. Her main goal is to teach her students the proper fundamentals of dance while finding the passion for dance within themselves so they be the best dancer and person they can be.


Madeline Raccio


Madeline started her dance career at Dance Unlimited where she trained competitively for 15 years. She was a member of the Hamden High School dance team, where she served as a captain for her junior and senior years. After graduating, she continued her education and dance career at Penn State University on the Lionettes Dance Team. During her time there her team danced in front of 107,000 fans and achieved a top 10 placement in D1A jazz at UDA nationals. Madeline graduated with a degree in Kinesiology, and worked as an ergonomic specialist post-grad. Additionally, Madeline is a certified personal trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. She is excited to share her love for dance and human movement.


Haley Huelsman

Guest Instructor

My name is Haley Huelsman. I was born and raised on the shoreline of Connecticut. Before I turned 2 I started dancing school. I have been training in all aspects of dance for the past 17 years. I moved to New York in August where I am attending (IAMT) The institute of American Musical Theatre. I am training with top name choreographers, and people in the business who will be able to help make my dream of being on Broadway come true. I live my life by one of my very favorite quotes "Dream, Believe, Achieve."


I presently train 6 days a week dancing, singing and acting. I have trained in every style of dance from ballet, pointe, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, jazz funk ,tap, hip hop, and tumbling. Traveling with Bellamoxi Dance Convention has allowed me to assist for top choreographers in the business. I have been singing since the age of 6 and belonged to a competitive Show Choir team my 4 years in high school and was dance captain my senior year. I have been fortunate to win many titles and scholarships. I began to dance competitively at the age of 4 at a local dance school. 


I have appeared on 2 Hit Dance Tv Shows-- Dance Moms on the Candy Apples And Abby's Ultimate Dance Competition Season 2, where I was trained by top name choreographers in the business. It was an opportunity of a lifetime! I danced with girls from all walks of life and made friendships that will last forever!
